The use of baking soda and vinegar is an alternative measure that can be taken. Just run some vinegar into the stubborn drain before sprinkling it with baking soda. Wait for 15 minutes so that the mixtures sets in properly and then wash it off with boiling water to clear the blockage.

Inspect and Prevent as an alternative to fixing problems.

The plumbing system works in the same manner as your car or any other machine. So it also requires regular maintenance. As you are most familiar with the behavior of your drains, be vigilant regarding what is going on with your drains and pipes and perform some of the examination yourself. Or you can get a qualified plumber to inspect your household drains regularly and save yourself a lot of expensive hassle. You can even ask the plumber to snake all the drains on a yearly basis. If case the drain clogs occur regularly there is a need to snake drain lines more than once per annum. All major drains must be checked regularly by CCTV inspections.

Regular inspection of the drains is important as the blockage can cost you a lot and not too forget it can be quite irritating too.
