Plumbing Question on old Floor Drains?

I have a couple of old 5 diameter floor drains. They are sunken about 2 from the floor surface. I tried banging it around the edges with a screwdriver and hammer and prying through the grid. Any tricks to getting them up without busting them up? I need to run a snake down to get the drain working. Thanks.

Most either have a screw in the center or just slide straight up. Part of it might have been poured over or it’s just corroded. You may have to mangle the strainer to get it off. Good luck.

Hit the edges all along the rim with the hammer, no too hard. Ther are seated inthe female trap most likely with dirt.
