Plan you drain system to function for the duration
You may be aware that your drainage pipe system is designed to move effluents into the septic tank. They are also used in the sewer system in our homes where they are used in between the inspection chambers. The system is supposed to keep itself clean and prevent the occurrence of any blockage. Correct gradients are used for this purpose. UPVC tubing is mainly used in the system. Its important after laying to sufficiently test before commissioning the system. This should be done between the inspection chambers.
It is necessary to install drainage pipes in trenches. The average depth is three hundred to five hundred millimeters. When the sewer system passes under a walkway, car park area or driveway, the pipe must be enveloped in concrete to protect it. Removing the earth to the appropriate levels is important before the inception of the work. Levels should be graded in the direction of the sewers or tanks. The slope should be in the ratio of one is to four. The bottom of the trenches should be rammed and compacted properly. In order to strengthen the bottom of the trench, fasten it and fix it.
Maintaining straight lines is essential while laying down the drainage pipes. The pipes should be connected with sockets leading uphill or in the direction of the building. The system should lie on a solid and even ground. Male and female sockets should be connected using good quality adhesive. The adhesive pack comes with instructions, make sure they are strictly followed. The drainpipe should go completely into the wall’s thickness as they are being joined to the inspection chambers. The drainpipes should be kept free of foreign matter.
Before laying down the drainage pipes, they should be examined minutely for any defects. This is done to avoid using punctured pipes which will leak over time. The recesses of the socket should be made at the deepest point. The hooks must be as stunted and small as possible. Good leveling and grading must be provided at the entry and exit points in an inspection chamber. Once all the joints are finished, the whole system is then covered over with earth. Connection is then made between the system and the septic tank or sewer. And the final step is to link the system to the utilities to finish the drainage system and commence the final test.
