your sink, dishwasher, and disposal are all hooked up to one drain line. when that line is blocked all will be blocked. you can try and remove the master trap (P trap) and take out the debris to clear the blockage. the trap is the u like drain pipe under the sink. if this does not work the blockage is further down the drain and a plumber will be needed to clear it... good luck

Never put peelings in a Disposal, not apple and not potato, - the catch in the drain where the pipe from the Disposal connect to the Pee Trap, take it apart at the Pee Trap, but put a bucket under there to catch dirty water from the trap- use rags under it also, the long tube coming from the disposal will have a piece of plastic blocking half that tube and that is where the peeling catch.

If you are good at a do it yourself.. it is easy to fix. disconnect the tubing from the garbage disposal to the outlet drain.. the drain that goes to the sewer(all under the sink of course).. make sure that the tube is NOT clogged.. it probably is.. then clean it and replace it.. You can do it yourself and save a plumber's bill.

You have an apple peel suck in the pipe. Garbage disposals have fixed blades on the side ( like a grader for slaw) and a rotating bottom. Unscrew the pipe leading out from the disposal, with a pan underneith, and your peel will most likely be there, in the end of the pipe.
