its not only immigrates that effect the government assistance programs.be aware?
We blame immigration for the drain on our government assistance, but what about these people who are also breaking the law and doing the same to the government assistance.
Deadbeat dads. Or mom’s in the case of child support
They don’t pay for their children yet, they don’t get caught like they should, fined like their supposed too or jailed for their major actions. Men keep having kids to add to the government assistance drain. Both quit jobs to avoid garnishment.
(If you know some report them)
Never wed mom’s
Having baby after baby with no dad accountable and cant afford to take care of them and they know this just to get assistance. The same women in some cases who don’t report the dad’s, yet know where they are. So that they milk the government for all its worth, shouldn’t they also be held accountable? (It’s the kids that suffer there)
Report abusers, it’s not JUST illegal immigrates fault only
Your thoughts..
If you don’t like the commits you must be one or the other.
Not all single moms do this.
Not all dads of kids who didn’t marry the woman do this. But it’s out there.
If your the good kind that doesn’t get assistance and raising your kids great. If the man was a creep, who did that to you he will have to answer to god. (Hopefully that one time taught you to watch out for the next one.) If you got assistance to start out and doing better now and either getting off it or is off of it, praise you for your wonderful efforts and success.

- What ethnicity actually benefits from social welfare programs the most?
I’m sure the stereotypical answer for this would be Blacks, but if you have specific numbers I’d be interested in seeing those. There’s roughly 40 million Blacks in the entire country and that’s slightly under 13%. I’m just curious as to how 13% of the population (actually less than 13% because all Blacks are not on social assistance) can be draining all the resources out of a nation of 300 million people.... - Why can’t we make all smokers, obese people, and junkies ineligible for any medicare/medicaid assistance?
So there can be more funds for those who want good health. Smoking = a choice Being fat = a choice Being a drug addict = a choice I think people who make these choices should have to fund their own private insurance policies so they don’t drain the public funding for those who need and deserve it. I personally am not a big supporter of public funding for medical care. But if we must have it, shouldn’t it only be for uninsured kids, old people who can’t afford it, and the working poor?...

key word is illegal…its not just immigrants
I wonder how many illegal immigrants sucked the system dry during and after Katrina? Sh**, New Orleans and the whole Gulf coast must have been loaded with Mexicans—right? Yep, looting, raping in the dome, killing for tennis shoes, what a disgrace.
Be careful of being judgemental … it comes back and bites you in the arse.
You’re right!!! I am totally against ANYONE getting welfare benefits who is perfectly ABLE to work!!!!! (I have no problem with the disabled and elderly getting it).
Welfare was meant for a good thing, but people have been ABUSING it for too many years now!!!!!!
But, at least the AMERICAN citizens are ENTITLED to these benefits!!!!! Illegals are NOT !!!!! And THIS is the difference!!!!!
I agree with sealrborders. I feel that every able bodied person should get out to work, but welfare benefits should only be restricted to US citizens
This is a subject that comes up in my class ALL THE TIME! Many people on assistance are not sitting around the house not working. They ARE working. They more than likely have jobs that pay minimum wage and use the assistance to supplement what they don’t have. I’m not saying that is right. I think assistance for those who are going to use it while in the process of taking steps to get OFF of it is fine. It should only be a temporary thing. I do feel that people who are trying to LIVE FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES (many of them who are abusing it) receiving government assistance should have certain limitations placed on them. I’ve seen people get benefits and it’s like that’s what they are supposed to be getting. It’s like it’s OWED to them. This is not the case. I feel that if you don’t have the drive to fight for a better life, then, after your benefits have expired, you get what you deserve. I don’t feel government assistance would be a problem if people used it only on a temporary basis. They get it, get on their feet, get off of it. That way, the system wouldn’t be taking care of the same people for 20+ years. I don’t agree with the legal law breaking citizens getting it or illegals.
