If the clogged drain is under a sink ,chances are the pipe there is a goose neck...named because that's what it looks like. you can take the goose neck off by unscrewing it at two points, and clean it out if this is the case . if your clogged pipe is not accessible you could try snaking it yourself, you can rent or by small plumbing snakes or if you can find the air pressure drain cleaners this might work depending on how bad your clog is, if not a goose neck, I would try the snake,if you have to use a liquid drain cleaner wear gloves and eye protection in case of splashing ,beater safe than sorry, this stuff is nothing to take lightly.. Good Luck be careful

Why don't you purchase a drain un-blocker from your hardware store? It's a coiled wire with a rounded weight on the end. You put the weight down the plug hole and just uncoil the wire with the water running and it will flush any blockage away quite easily! finish off with a drop of Dettol or any nice smelling germ killing disinfectant. Have a great day.

i have an older house with slow drains... and four girls with a lot of hair.
honestly, i use drano when it gets bad.. but on the day i use it i make sure no one will be in the shower or bath for a full day...so the whole family has their showers or baths, then at the end of the day i tell them all to stay out of it, pour the drano in and let it sit. after about 30 min i go check it run some hot water.. i re-do the drano if i need to and again let it sit for a while... then hot water again..... and it is usually clear..

the next day, showers only, actually for a couple days.. and the baby does not get a bath for a few days, if she needs one i just take a shower with her and do not put her in the tub...
this way i am sure all the drano is gone...

with all our hair its the only thing that will work...
