Clogged sewers will dissapear with these points
Clogged drains happen to everyone, and they are not fun. The bathtub shower, sink or toilet get back filled with water when the drains are completely blocked. At this point, the offending blockage must be removed through all that built up water and chances are that the homeowner will not be able to clear it using household remedies or drain products. Calling in a professional plumber to clear it is extremely expensive. The cost in fact varies based on the blockage and how fixed it is, so expect a heavy expense if it is more stubborn. Only when multiple blockages occur in your house may you then you realise the mistake of not taking precautionary measures.
But do you know how drains get blocked?.
Not paying proper attention is a primary reason for clogged drains. Improper usage of the drain strainer to filter out the food particles and rubbish going down the kitchen drain will definitely lead to a drain clog. These food scraps buildup inside the pipework, causing blockage. Additionally, cooking oil and/or grease may gather inside the pipes or on top of a worsening blockage. Too much toilet paper flushed down the toilet invariably causes drain blockage.
In order to avoid clogging of toilet drains items that are not meant for toilets should not be flushed into it. Items like baby wipes, paper towels and sanitary napkins can cause a blockage immediately or over a period of time. Hair falling into shower drains, bathroom sinks or bathtubs can slowly clog up the system. Frequent usage of soaps, shampoos, hair gel and toothpaste can worsen the blockage further.
Further, choked drainage can be caused by other factors, besides what you pour down the drain. Problems can also occur due to tree roots and rusting of pipes.
In case of a clogged drain, here are few things that you can do.
Try using acids and other suitable chemical products to clear drain blockages. However these chemicals might have an adverse effect on your pipes and also on your health and environment. Fortunately, some natural ways can eliminate those hazardous chemicals. For example, one method is to frequently run very hot water down the drains. Using baking soda and vinegar is another method. Pour vinegar on the clogged drain and sprinkle baking soda over it. Wait for 15 minutes, and then rinse the drain with boiling water – that should do the trick and flush out the blockage.
Inspect and Prevent as an alternative to fixing problems.
Your home plumbing system works similarly to any mechanical device, tool or motor vehicle. These systems need regular inspections and maintenance. You can do an inspection yourself since you are aware of how the drains function and how a blockage occurs, thus being alert about the current situation within your pipelines. If you want to get rid of all the drainage problems and associated expenses, all you need to do is have an experienced plumber to check your drains regularly. To avoid any trouble, get your plumbing technician to snake all the drain lines at least once a year. In case of frequent blockages your pipes and drains are vulnerable, inspect the drain lines quite often to get early warning. You can also use a video inspection service for the major pipelines regularly.
Regular inspection of the drains is important as the blockage can cost you a lot and not too forget it can be quite irritating too.
